About

Supreme Court of India Remark: No task is as important as creating a Safe Environment for our Population/Employees. Recent events of deaths due to threats like building/Structure collapse, fire accidents, Industrial Disasters, Chemical/ Toxic Releases, terrorist attacks, Road Accidents, and stampedes bring to light the need to be continually vigilant to ensure safety. An alarming number of death toll figures has made Human Life Safety a crucial societal issue. Unnatural disasters are attributable to conditions resulting from human conduct, such as grossly negligent acts, inaction, or serious errors.

These are broad:

• Fire outbreaks, especially in places to which the public has access, including high-rise

buildings,

• Building collapses,

• Stampedes in public places and

• Industrial disasters viz., explosions, escape of toxic fumes and gases, mishaps in

underground mines, etc., and

• Terrorist attacks & Serial Bomb Blast, exposure to radioactive waste. Road, rail, boat, air

accidents and disasters caused by sabotage and mob violence

We are not prepared -technologically, administratively, and attitudinally - to deal effectively with disasters & accidents mainly because of lack of enforcement of Laws, lack of Planning, Sub Standard Life Saving Equipments, compromising with life threats, Shortage of Trained and Skilled Professionals, Shortage of QRT, Inadequate infrastructure for speedy dissemination of Information and poor attitude of officials and general public towards safety and disaster management.

Keeping the above in view, training and conferences are regularly organized on Fire Safety and Disaster Management Preparedness being organized by EAR with the help of expert professionals to meet the following Objectives:

• Ground Reality of Legal Enforcement & Compliance Status

• To Sensitize DM Provisions

• Law, Policy & Regulations

• Roles & Responsibility in Disaster Management Preparedness

• Offences, Penalties & Prosecutions, etc.

• Standardization in Life-saving Equipment

• Audit & Enforcement
